# GPT Image 2.6

> Generate and edit images with OpenAI's GPT Image 2.6 Flare and Sunburst. See supported inputs, parameters, pricing, response fields, and API examples.

Generate and edit images with GPT Image 2.6, OpenAI's image model in two variants, released November 4, 2026.

**Flare** is the fast tier for everyday generation and editing. **Sunburst** is the quality tier, with finer detail and closer adherence to your reference images, at longer generation times. Both take the same parameters and cost the same, so switching is a model id change. The request body is identical to [GPT Image 2.5](https://docs.unifically.com/models/image/openai/gpt-image-2.5.md).

## Parameters

| `image_urls` | array | No | Reference image URLs for image editing mode. Up to 16 |
| `nsfw_check` | boolean | No | Check the prompt and input images for NSFW content before generating. Off unless set to `true`. Default: `false` |

## Pricing

Billed per image by output resolution, plus each reference image. The aspect ratio does not change the price, and Flare and Sunburst cost the same.

Each reference image adds **\$0.0075**.

## Editing With Reference Images

Pass `image_urls` to edit an existing image, place a product in a new scene, or combine several subjects into one shot. Sunburst holds reference detail more closely.
