# Topaz Astra 2

> Creative AI video upscaling with Topaz Astra 2, with prompt, creativity, and realism controls. See parameters, pricing, and API examples.

Topaz's creative video upscaler. It adds new, believable detail rather than only restoring what was there, and you can steer the look with a prompt.

## When to use

* AI-generated video that needs a premium, high-detail finish.
* Stylised content where you want to direct the look with a prompt.
* Hero shots and showcase clips where the richest possible detail is worth the price.

**Pick something else when:**

* You need a faithful restoration of real footage: use [Starlight](/models/video/topaz-labs/starlight-fast-2). Astra may invent detail.
* You are processing large volumes: Starlight Fast 2 costs a fraction of Astra.

  Billed per second of the input video, counted at 30 fps: a 60 fps upload counts double and a 24 fps upload 0.8x, because every source frame is processed. Output `fps` does not change the price. `1440p` and `4k` use the 4K rate.

## Parameters
